Plymouth Argyle v Forest Green Rovers
 Women's Football News 14 Dec 2008
Plymouth Argyle v Forest Green Rovers - 14 Dec 2008 - Women's Football NewsF.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Forest Green Rovers ended the long Cup run of Cheltenham Town in the last round with a 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from Helen Wood and Angie McQuillan.
The Gloucestershire side will now play away to Plymouth Argyle in the Third Round, the Devon side notching up an impressive 6-0 win against Team Bath.
The date of Plymouth's formation is not known but early beginnings started in early 1975 under the name of Plymouth Pilgrims. They entered the Western League in 1976 and twice reached the quarter finals of the Women's FA Cup during the next three years. They joined the South West Women's League and were founder members of the South West Combination in 1998 under the name of Saltash Pilgrims. The name change to Plymouth Argyle came in 2001 and they have been amongst the top clubs in recent years, having finished as runners-up in each of the past two seasons as well as winning the Ambassador League Cup last year.
The team is managed by Kev Rose, Clive Roberts is assistant with Chris Benham and Pete Distin as coaches. Prolific striker Chloe Roberts recently attended an England under-23 training camp and Jemma Rose was a member of the England squad in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup. Captain Katie Middleton is an influential player and other key players include Becky Atkins, Aoife Aherne, Emily Mousley and Laura Perrett.
Plymouth Parkway FC will host this intriguing tie between two of the South West Combination title contenders. Forest Green won their league meeting earlier this season but Plymouth have been in great form in the Cup and an excellent match is in prospect.
