Anna "so proud" of her players
 Women's Football News 1 Nov 2008
Anna Anna Signeul has paid tribute to her players following their agonising exit from the UEFA Women's Championships.
Scotland went out on away goals despite a 2-1 victory in the second leg of their play-off with Russia in Moscow, the first time they have beaten the Russians in their history.
Speaking to www.scottishfa.co.uk, Anna said: "I have never felt so disappointed after winning a game. But I am so proud of these players, they have achieved so much to get to this point.
"I think we dominated the game from start to finish and showed tremendous spirit, even when we went one down and knew that we needed to score three. We took a bit of a chance in the second half by letting Russia come at us, but we needed goals and we so nearly got the right result.
"I think it's a tremendous achievement for us to have played so well over two games against such a strong side and I can't say enough how proud I am of this group of players."
