Glasgow City put up a brave fight in going down 3-1 to UEFA Women's Cup holders FFC Frankfurt in their final group match in Oslo.
City needed a victory to stand any hope of qualifying but the Germans went ahead midway through the first half with a goal from Sarah Schatton.
Karolin Thomas then added a second via a spectacular volley but Glasgow hit back just two minutes later, Katharina Lindner pulling a goal back against her former club.
City tried to get themselves back on terms but were caught pushing forward in injury time and Thomas scored a second to secure a 3-1 win and Frankfurt's qualification for the quarter finals.
