Barnsley v Guiseley
 Women's Football News 12 Oct 2008
Barnsley v Guiseley - 12 Oct 2008 - Women's Football NewsF.A.Women's Cup - Road to the Final
Barnsley maintained their Cup run in the last round by running out 5-0 winners over Keighley.
Jess Burton scored twice along with Rachel Petyt, Bev Smith and Nicola Coxhead to earn their team another home tie in the Second Round Qualifying against Guiseley, who reached this stage with an emphatic 12-2 victory against Winterton Rangers.
Guiseley Ladies FC was formed in 2005 after linking up with the men's team, which plays in the Unibond League. The ladies team started life in the Premier Division of the West Riding County League and they have progressed up to the Premier Division of the North East League in just three seasons. They have settled into the community set up at Guiseley and are proud to play their home games at the club's home venue of Nethermoor Park.
The team is now managed by Scott Rogan, previously of Bradford City and Leeds Utd. Scott came to the club this summer and has already set a short term target of building upon the success of the open age section by establishing an Under-16/Development team at the club by the summer of 2009. Jenny Taylor under takes the role of Secretary and Kate O'Connor is Physio.
The club currently has a squad of 22 players after recently capturing the signings of three Leeds Development players after they folded in September. This was great news for Guiseley and they are hoping it will kick start a good Cup run for the club.
The match takes place at Dorothy Hyman Stadium at Cudworth in Barnsley and, with the sides having drawn 2-2 in their league meeting earlier this season, a tight match is expected.
