Whitley snap up Karen - 22 Sep 2008 - Women's Football NewsWhitley Bay have signed Karen Hutchinson from Sunderland.
25-year-old Karen started her footballing career at Sunderland and moved to Newcastle last season. She returned to the Black Cats at the start of this season but has had a change of heart and joined Whitley.
Karen is a ball winning central midfield player and will increase the pressure for places in the Whitley team.
Manager Colin Phillips said: "I tried to sign Karen in June but she moved back to Sunderland. I am delighted she has decided to join us and am grateful to Sunderland for their co-operation in this move."
Karen came off the bench in Whitley's 4-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Sunday to make her debut and set up a goal for youngster Brooke Wilkinson.
