Leading duo hit five
 Women's Football News 19 Sep 2008
Arsenal made sure of maintaining the pace at the top of the National Division with a 5-1 victory away to Nottingham Forest.
Kelly Smith and Gemma Davison both netted early goals for the Gunners but Levi Penny halved the deficit for Forest with her first goal for the club, shortly before half time. After the break, Smith netted her second and Arsenal went on to seal the win with further goals from Katie Chapman and Dannii Bird.
Four second half goals helped second placed Chelsea on their way to a 5-1 success at Watford, keeping them two points behind leaders Arsenal. Claire Rafferty netted the only goal of the first half for Chelsea before she doubled their advantage with her second, on the hour mark. Helen Lander pulled a goal back for Watford but further strikes from Eniola Aluko, Brooke Chaplen and Lianne Sanderson secured the points for the Blues.
