Luton maintain slender advantage
 Women's Football News 5 Sep 2008
Luton Town still lead the way at the top of the South East Combination after they maintained their 100% record with a 3-1 victory over Cambridge City.
Mikaela Taylor, Rebecca Kane and Janine Daly were all on target for Luton.
A 6-3 win away to Tottenham Hotspur means that Welwyn Garden City remain in second place behind Luton on goal difference. Laveena Betts netted twice, one from the penalty spot, along with Laura Bright, Ella Baker, Sam Gillings and an own goal.
Enfield Town move into third but conceded their first points of the season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Bedford Town Bells. Donna Coombs gave Bedford a first half lead which they held until the dying minutes, when Kerrie Marlborough salvaged a point for Enfield.
Wellingborough Diamonds lifted themselves up the table, thanks to a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten Lewes.
Gillingham claimed their first victory of the season in some style, 4-1 against Whitehawk. Kylie Overton was on target twice for the Gills, along with Leanne Stevens and Anna Broad.
After two defeats in their opening two matches, Northampton Town got off the mark with a 2-1 success away to Norwich City.
