OOH Lincoln are the new leaders of the Northern Division after they scored nine without reply against Curzon Ashton.
Amanda Barr scored a hat-trick for the Lady Imps inside the opening half hour and Sophie Barker also found the net. Jodie Michalska netted either side of half time and, after Barr had bagged her fourth, went on to complete her own hat-trick with Carla Ward completing the tally in the dying minutes.
A point would have Manchester City clear at the top but they went down to a 3-2 defeat away to Aston Villa who, along with Leicester City, complete a quartet of clubs level on points at the top of the table. Natalie Gibson's early strike gave Villa the lead and Danielle Selmes netted twice before half time. After the break, Jade O'Connor gave City renewed hope by grabbing a double but Villa held on to take the points.
Rotherham Utd came from behind to secure their first victory of the season, 3-1 against previously unbeaten Tranmere Rovers. In-form striker Vicky Abbott had given the home side a tenth minute lead but Rotherham levelled the scores just before half time through Sarah Smith. After the break, Kerry Longstone put Rotherham in front and Smith wrapped up the win with her second goal.
