Arsenal made a swift return to the top of the National Division by sweeping to a 6-1 victory over Watford.
Kim Little netted twice in the first half, either side of a Cori Daniels own goal, and Jayne Ludlow added a fourth goal early after the restart. Kelly Smith then bagged a brace to take her tally for the season into double figures, in just the third match of the campaign. Helen Lander scored a late consolation for Watford.
Chelsea meanwhile moved back into second place as they scored five without reply away to WFC Fulham. Eniola Aluko's double gave the Blues a two-goal half time lead but Fulham were unable to take an opportunity to get back into the half as Bonnie Horwood missed a penalty. Brooke Chaplen then netted twice and Aluko rounded off the victory by completing her hat-trick.
There was plenty of drama at Blackburn Rovers where a late, late goal for Leeds Carnegie salvaged a 2-2 draw. Katie Holtham put Leeds in front in first half injury time, but two goals from Natalie Preston against her former club seemed to have given Blackburn the points. However, six minutes into injury time, Sophie Walton popped up to score a vital equaliser and deny the Lancashire side their first win of the season.
