Blackburn swoop for Tammy - 12 Aug 2008 - Women's Football NewsBlackburn Rovers have raided Premier League rivals Liverpool for the third time this summer with the capture of utility player Tammy Byrne.
The versatile 28-year-old, who is comfortable at full-back or in central midfield, has joined former team mates Chantelle Parry and Faye McCoy in Adam Lakeland's side.
The Rovers boss said: "Tammy has got good Premier League experience and will be an excellent addition to the squad.
"She is a good communicator and has a solid understanding of the game. She can help us mature a lot as a group and particularly at the back, where we made a number of basic mistakes last season.
"She is a consummate professional, who trains hard and is good with the younger players."
