Scottish Women’s Premier League
Rangers have a two point lead at the top of the table after scoring ten times without reply past Dundee Utd. Katie Wilkinson was once again on target in the opening minute of the match and after Kirsty Howat had made it two, Laura Berry netted a quickfire double and Wilkinson scored twice more to complete her hat-trick ahead of the break. Rio Hardy increased Rangers’ lead midway through the second half before Berry bagged her own hat-trick goal and Tessel Middag rounded off the scoring in injury time.
The win actually saw Rangers regain the leadership after their two nearest rivals at the start of play had met each other on Friday night. Celtic and Hibernian went into their match with both teams sporting 100% records, which neither was able to maintain as their clash finished in a goalless draw, which leaves both two points off the pace.
Hearts are a further point adrift in fourth place following their 6-1 victory against Motherwell. Georgia Timms and Joely Andrews put them two goals ahead at the interval, with Chelsie Watson reducing the arrears four minutes after the restart. Emma Brownlie quickly restored the two-goal advantage and Monica Forsyth added the fourth, and after Lisa Robertson also got on the scoresheet on the hour, Brownlie completed her double late on.
Glasgow City meanwhile made it four wins out of five with a 2-0 success away to Spartans. Natalia Wrobel opened the scoring for City on the half hour mark and Nikol Kozlova wrapped up the win with the second goal, six minutes from time.
The first drawn match of the season in SWPL 1 took place at Wyre Stadium on Sunday, Partick Thistle and Aberdeen finishing level at 2-2. The Dons had looked to be on their way towards their second win of the campaign when Hannah Stewart gave them a third minute lead and Francesca Ogilvie made it two on the hour, but the Jags battled back in the last fifteen minutes of the match and goals from Emma Lawton and Carla Boyce earned them a share of the spoils.
Montrose notched up their first league victory of the season when they won 3-0 away to Queen’s Park. The Spiders went into the match on the back of two wins but Louise Brown scored twice inside the opening fourteen minutes, the second from the penalty spot, and Jade McLaren added the third goal after the break.

Gartcairn Women had a great day, with Morgan Anderson (2), Yasmin Boyce, Tara McGonigle, Madison Maxwell, Kaela McDonald-Nguah and Nicole Carter fired them towards a 7-0 win against St Johnstone and Livingston reached the same tally, Kaitlyn Canavan marking her debut by scoring four times along with Ashley Elizabeth, Shannon Mulligan and Jess Murphy as they won 7-3 at Ayr Utd.
