Stenhousemuir and Renfrew up into top half
Stenhousemuir and Renfrew Ladies moved into the top half of the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship with home wins in a dramatic day in SWF’s national leagues.
Inverness Caledonian Thistle travelled to Stenny looking to maintain their title run after suffering a home defat last week, but faced a rejuvenated Stenhousemuir who scored twice in the second half to send them back to the Highlands empty handed.
After what had been a tense 80 minutes, with Jen Horrocks in the Caley Thistle goal having tipped a free kick brilliantly over the bar, Sarah McLeod converted a penalty and Sarah McWilliams struck two minutes later to lift their side above Falkirk in the table for the first time this season.
