FA Women’s National League



Northern Premier Division


A goal in each half, including the winner with ten minutes remaining, from Millie Ravening gave Burnley FC Women a 2-1 victory at Stoke City which keeps them on top of the table. Evie Priestley had equalised for Stoke midway through the second half, before Ravening struck late on.


Wolverhampton Wanderers kept themselves a single point behind Burnley, with a game in hand, when early strikes from Amber Hughes and Louanne Worsey earned them a 2-0 success away to Halifax FC Women.


Rugby Borough continue to head the teams chasing after the top two, thanks to a 4-0 victory over Hull City. Jessica Camwell gave Rugby the lead in the first half and after Lily Greenslade netted either side of half time, Sofia Mallon rounded off the scoring with sixteen minutes remaining.


Middlesbrough's run of six wins in a row was halted when they shared a 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion. Hannah George was on target for Albion, who remain in fifth place, three points behind 'Boro who netted through Armani Maxwell.


Derby County have meanwhile drawn level on points with Liverpool Feds after winning their meeting 1-0. Hannah Ward settled matters when she scored the only goal of the game, midway through the first half.


The two teams who were at the foot of the table at the start of play met each other in an important clash and it was Sporting Khalsa who picked up a 1-0 win against Loughborough Lightning. Daisy Wickett was on target to hand Khalsa three valuable points, which takes them out of the bottom two.


Southern Premier Division


AFC Bournemouth keep hold of the leadership on goal difference after they ran out 5-0 winners away to AFC Wimbledon. Molly Barron-Clark gave the Cherries an early lead which was doubled by Sophie Quirk, before Kenni Thompson added a brace and Emilia Newton rounded off the scoring.


Watford returned from Oxford Utd with a 2-0 win under their belts, which sees them continue to keep pace with the leaders. Isabella Fisher put Watford in front just before the half hour mark and Anne Meiwald wrapped up the points when she netted the second late on.


Plymouth Argyle are back up into third place, five points off the pace, following their 5-1 victory over Gwalia Utd. Tamara Wilcock gave Argyle the lead shortly before half time and they added further goals after the break through Charlotte Whitmore (2), Tianna Teisar and Ellie Noble, with Casi Gregson replying.


Argyle therefore lift themselves back above Real Bedford, whose six-match unbeaten run was brought to an end with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Hashtag Utd. Honor Norton put the Tags in front during the first half at the Ledger Stadium, with Charlotte Kellett adding the second, shortly after half time.


Cheltenham Town are continuing to do well and they emerged as 2-1 winners over Lewes in what was a dress rehearsal for their meeting in the Adobe Women's FA Cup later this month. Clarabella Hall gave Cheltenham a first half lead which was cancelled out by Olivia Carpenter, before Amelie Curtis scored the goal which takes Cheltenham up to fifth place.


Exeter City scored seven times without reply past Billericay Town and they are back in the top half. Sophie Gillies led the scoring by hitting a hat-trick and she was joined on the scoresheet by Madeleine Durrant, Ishbel Zuurmond, Georgia Vaccaro and Sarah Stacey.


Division One North


Cheadle Town Stingers held on to the leadership when they battled out a goalless draw with Chorley who, despite being in sixth place, are only four points adrift of their opponents.


Cheadle now head the table on goal difference from Wythenshawe, who continued their good week by following up their midweek win over the leaders with a 2-1 success away to Doncaster Rovers Belles. A first half double from Alicia Johnson gave Wythenshawe the points, despite Abigail Coley pulling one back for the Belles late on.


Huddersfield Town moved themselves to within a point of the top two by beating Chester-le-Street Town 4-1. Hannah Burgess put Town in front after two minutes and Louise Biggins then hit a first half hat-trick to put them four ahead, before Molly Wilcock netted a consolation for the Cestrians on the hour.


Leeds Utd are now a further point adrift in fourth, following their 2-1 victory away to Durham Cestria. Faye Dale did get the Wildcats off to a good start when she gave them an early lead but Leeds quickly hit back with an equaliser from Drew Greene and Alice Hughes netted a decisive second with eleven minutes remaining.


Stockport County bounced back from a midweek defeat to record their fifth victory in seven games, 3-0 at York City. County netted all three goals in a fifteen minute spell during the first half, Emily Bradshaw opening the scoring before they added further goals through Jess Battle and Abigail Podmore.


Norton & Stockton Ancients lifted themselves into a mid-table position when they won 2-1 against Blackburn Rovers. Bianca Owens gave Norton a first half lead which was cancelled out by Ashley Tiripke, then Louise Atkinson ensured a fourth away victory on the day with the winning strike at the midpoint of the second half.


Division One Midlands


Peterborough Utd made it seven wins out of seven and have opened up a lead of two points following their 3-1 victory against Boldmere St Michaels, whose own winning start to the campaign was brought to an end. Lauren Wilshaw netted a first half double, with Anna Wilcox reducing the arrears for the Mikes ahead of the break, but Kira Rai grabbed a third with eighteen minutes to help the Posh Women keep up their perfect start in the league.


Barnsley Women remain in second place but saw their run of five straight wins in the league brought to a halt when they were held to a goalless draw by Sutton Coldfield Town.


Leafield Athletic returned from Kidderminster Harriers with a 3-1 victory under their belts and this result lifts them up to third, ahead of Boldmere St Michaels on goal difference. Evie Gallop netted twice and Gemma Fraser the other to seal a good day for their side, whilst Kiddy's consolation came from Grace Rogers.


Notts County cemented themselves in fifth place when they ran out 3-0 winners against Northampton Town. The first half was goalless but after the break, Shoniqua Barnes bagged a brace and Leah Hardy joined her on the scoresheet.


Sheffield FC returned themselves into the top half when they defeated Lincoln Utd 6-1. Stacey Buxton and Halima Essa were both on target twice and the others came from Lexie Butterworth and Lauren Winter, whilst Lucy Farrow netted Lincoln's consolation.


Stourbridge picked up an important point for themselves when they shared a 1-1 draw with mid-table Worcester City. Sophie Phillips put the Glassgirls in front just before half time, with Maia Clark earning Worcester a share of the spoils when she equalised early in the second half.


Division One South East


After their 100% record came to an end during the week, Fulham were straight back to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over AFC Sudbury which keeps them a point ahead at the top. Kayleigh Stead scored a goal in each half and she was joined on the scoresheet by Katie Dungate and Ellie Olds, whilst Sudbury's replies came from Amy-Leigh Abrehart and Faith Harrison.


Norwich City stay hard on Fulham's heels in second place as they slammed Chesham Utd 9-2. Lara Densley, Holly Kennard, Isabelle Moore and Freya Symonds all bagged braces and Grace Rigler added the other for the Canaries, with Jenny Nagle also netting twice in response.


London Bees are a further five points adrift in third following their 1-0 success away to Luton Town. Millie Isherwood scored the only goal of the game for the Bees, just before half time.


Queen's Park Rangers follow on in fourth, after becoming the first team to take points off leaders Fulham in midweek, they battled out a goalless draw with Actonians Ladies.


Cambridge Utd played host to Chatham Town but the game was marred by a serious leg injury suffered by U's midfielder Brooke Cheal-Ferris, which caused the match to be abandoned. We wish Brooke a speedy recovery.


Dulwich Hamlet meanwhile put a five point gap between themselves and Milton Keynes Dons by winning their meeting 1-0. Kendra Brown scored the only goal of the game for Hamlet, with sixteen minutes on the clock.


Division One South West


A 5-0 victory against Worthing keeps Swindon Town five points ahead at the top, with their eighth straight victory. Lacy-Jai Liggett and Libby Davies put them two goals ahead and an own goal made it three at the break, with Annabelle Colston and Elise Clayton adding further goals during the second half.


Moneyfields remain in second place as they went one better by scoring six times without reply past Keynsham Town. Shannon Albuery hit a first half hat-trick for the Moneys and she was joined on the scoresheet by Skye-Louise Granger, Gemma Simmonds and Rebekah Tonks.


Bristol Rovers got back to winning ways with a 3-2 success away to Marine Academy Plymouth. Thierry-Jo Gauvain gave Rovers an early lead which was cancelled out by Sam Drewery, but goals from Abbey Hateley and Ruby Scahill were enough to give Rovers the points, despite Lucy Solloway pulling one back for the home side in injury time.


Bridgwater Utd kept themselves two points behind the top three when they won 2-1 at Abingdon Utd. Aimee Kingdon and Abbie Carslake were both on target for Bridgwater, with Molly Lygo-Jackson replying.


Bournemouth Sports climbed up into fifth, their highest position of the season to date, thanks to a 1-0 victory against Ascot Utd. Rosie Eden settled matters when she scored the only goal of the game in the opening minute of the second half.


Maidenhead Utd needed to survive a second half fightback from Portishead Town in order to record a 3-2 success which takes them into the top half of the table. Katie Akerman, Aaliyah Charles and Bella Stockton all scored as Maidenhead raced into a three-goal lead at the break but a spirited fightback from Portishead, with Mia Blazey and Amy Clark on target, was not quite enough for a share of the spoils.


Reserve Section Leagues round-up...


Seven different players got on the scoresheet as Northern Division leaders Leeds Utd powered to a 9-0 victory over AFC Fylde. Lacey Ogley and Abbie Langstaff each scored twice, with one apiece from Yonah Dias, Saraiah Swallow, Sophie Smith, Alicia Windle and Ava Spencer-Smith to keep their team four points clear at the top from Middlesbrough, who defeated Doncaster Rovers Belles 3-1 thanks to Annie Mitchell (2) and Amber Rodgers. Derby County now complete the top three after they also won 3-1 at Notts County, Ella Boyland netting twice and Daisy Barritt the other. The other game saw Huddersfield Town edge out Hull City by the odd goal in seven, courtesy of Emily Tuck (2), Hannah Murray and Lucy Lewis.


Ipswich Town remain on top of the South East Division despite going down to their first defeat, beaten 1-0 by Billericay Town. Nell Doe scored the only goal of the game to take Billericay level on points with Ipswich, but one goal short of claiming the leadership. Queen's Park Rangers are up to third after scoring six times without reply past Maidenhead Utd, Deja Bass on target twice along with Abigail Bird, Adonia McNally, Maya Bentt and Yasmin Habbal.


South West Division leaders AFC Bournemouth did not play on Sunday and their advantage has been halved to three points by Swindon Town, after Star Allen, Antoinette Salaveria and Paige Williams gave them a 3-0 victory over Moneyfields. Keynsham Town cemented themselves in third place thanks to a 5-1 win against Cheltenham Town, courtesy of a Vicky Vipond hat-trick, Tilly Welsford and Maddie Iles.
