Brazil 3 (Erika 49, Cristiane 54,pen 90) Equatorial Guinea 0 att: 35,859; at Frankfurt Brazil completed their Group D schedule with a 100% record as three second half goals earned them a comfortable 3-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea. Brazil almost took the lead in the second minute as a free kick by Marta just eluded Cristiane and Erika in front of goal. Brazil pressed hard early on but were let down by the final ball on most occasions and this allowed the Africans to grow in confidence as the half wore on. Equatorial Guinea went close themselves as Dorine played a free kick into the area where a shot on the turn by Anonman was smothered by Andreia. Four minutes into the second half, Brazil took the lead when a cross-cum-shot by Maurine was clawed away by Miriam as far as Erika who flicked the rebound past Ana Cristina before volleying home the opening goal. Before Equatorial Guinea could recover, Brazil struck again quickly. Marta was heavily involved with a powerful run down the left wing before her cross was turned in at the near post by Cristiane. Anonman went close at the other end as Equatorial Guinea valiantly pushed for a consolation goal but it was Brazil who were to round off the game with a third in injury time when Erika was fouled in the area by Bruna and Cristiane completed her double from the penalty spot. Brazil: Andreia, Maurine, Fabiana (sub Thais Guedes 82mins), Aline, Renata Costa, Rosana (sub Francielle 70mins), Ester, Formiga (sub Beatriz 90mins), Erika, Marta, Cristiane.
