Aberystwyth Town produced the result of the day in the Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League on Sunday when they won 1-0 away to previously unbeaten Abergavenny Women.
Niamh Duggan scored the only goal of the game, just after the hour mark, to hand Aberystwyth their first league victory of the season and lift them off the bottom of the table whilst third placed Abergavenny conceded their first points.
With Cardiff Met Women not having a game, Swansea City replaced them at the top of the table by running out 4-0 winners away to Cascade YC. Katy Hosford gave the Swans a fifth minute lead which was doubled by Kelly Adams, before Hosford ensured that Swansea were three ahead at half time. Hosford completed a good day for herself with fourteen minutes remaining as she rounded off the scoring with her hat-trick goal.
Cyncoed Ladies ensured their return to action was a winning one as they beat Briton Ferry Llansawel 3-1. Millie Jones and Megan Saunders put the Mighty Oaks two ahead inside the opening fifteen minutes and after Chelsea Deacon pulled one back for Briton Ferry before the interval, Alison Witts secured the points for Cyncoed with the third goal, early in the second half.
A four-goal second half blitz got Cardiff City Women back to winning ways following an early setback away to Port Talbot Town. Lauren Amor gave Port Talbot an eighteenth minute lead from the penalty spot but Catherine Walsh levelled the scores five minutes ahead of the break, before second half doubles from Jasmine Simpson and Phoebe Poole rounded off a 5-1 victory for the Bluebirds.
