Rangers have taken over at the top of the SBS Scottish Women's Premier League on goal difference following a stunning 5-0 victory over previous leaders Glasgow City.
City had gone into the game with a 100% record but it was Rangers who swept into a three-goal lead by half time thanks to Megan Bell, Kirsty Howat and Zoe Ness. Lizzie Arnot put them further ahead early in the second half, before Carly Girasoli rounded off the scoring against her former club.
Celtic meanwhile also won 5-0 against Motherwell to move themselves to within two points of the top two. Lisa Robertson opened the scoring three minutes before half time and after the break, Sarah Ewens doubled their lead. Rachel Donaldson and Chloe Craig added further goals before Ewens netted her second, nine minutes from time.
Hibernian put their four match losing streak behind them by running out 3-0 winners over Forfar Farmington. All of the goals came in the first half, Leah Eddie giving Hibs the lead on the quarter hour and they went on to add further goals through Siobhan Hunter and Carla Boyce.
A late, late goal gave Spartans the points in a 2-1 success away to Hearts. Spartans led at half time through a goal from Caley Gibb, with Hearts hitting back after the game with an equaliser from Lia Tweedie. That goal looked to put her side on the way towards picking up a valuable point but deep into injury time, Alana Marshall scored to hand Spartans their third win of the season. There was some small consolation for Hearts who, despite the defeat, are off the bottom of the table on goal difference.
