The Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League Cup resumed on Sunday with the next round of group matches and league champions Swansea City needed to come from behind to beat Cyncoed Ladies 2-1.
The Swans were making their first appearance in the competition this season and after a goalless first half, all of the goals came in a nine minute spell around the hour mark. An own goal by Gemma Border put Cyncoed in front but three minutes later, Swansea were level thanks to Chloe Chivers and Shauna Jenkins scored what proved to be the winner shortly afterwards.
Cardiff City Women lead the way in the group after running out 4-0 winners over Port Talbot Town. Zoe Atkins opened the scoring for Cardiff with four minutes on the clock and Phoebe Poole made it two on the quarter hour. Danielle Broadhurst increased the Bluebirds' lead just after the half hour mark, before Poole wrapped up the scoring with her second after the break.
Cardiff Met Women are three points clear in Group One, as they scored eight times without reply past Aberystwyth Town. The Archers took a fifth minute lead through a Lauren Townsend penalty, with Steph Turner, Lucy Finch and Jodie Passmore also getting on the scoresheet before Townsend netted her second on the stroke of half time. Kennesha Nanette made it six during the second half, with Passmore completing her double and Chloe O'Connor adding the final goal late on.
Cascade Youth Club were another team to stage a second half comeback in their 2-1 success away to Abergavenny Women. Aber led at the interval through a sixteenth minute goal from Lauren Boyd but on the hour, Annaliese Lewis brought Cascade level and Abbie Davies netted the winning goal with seventeen minutes remaining.
