Women's Football Regional Premier North East News - 20 Mar 2020
Regional Premier North East News - Bob takes Harrogate job - 20 Mar 2020 - Women's Football NewsHarrogate Town have announced the appointment of Mr Bob Wilkinson as their new Women's First Team Manager.
Bob is an FA Coach Mentor and Affiliate Tutor for both the North and West Riding County areas. He is also an FA Licensed Coach and has held UEFA B/Level 3 qualifications since 2008, being involved with football as a player, coach and licenced referee for many years in both the North East and Yorkshire.
He currently coaches the U16's at York City RTC which is the England Female Talent pathway. He is the FA Coach Mentor Lead for the Wildcats programme in the West Riding County Area which has over 160 centres promoting the National Strategy to double female participation in football and has experience at grassroots as Chairman/Manager and coach at Brayton Belles Ladies FC.
He is passionate about long term player development of all age groups and abilities, both outfield and goalkeeper, always with the intention to develop players from grassroots through to elite.
His other previous roles as manager/coach of teams in the FA Women's National League (Northern One) and the North East Regional Women's League has certainly given him a good grounding to work with the Harrogate Town Women's Team to strive and push for their continued development and future promotion.
"The Harrogate Town vision, structure and Club philosophy excites me and I am really looking forward to passing on my knowledge, experience and coaching skills for the seasons ahead, to be part of this holistic team, to develop and to pursue a positive and successful future for all concerned," Wilkinson said on his appointment.
Bob will take the reins at the end of the current season, with Martin Powell continuing in his role of Caretaker Manager until that point.
"At this time we also like to thank Martin for his sterling work successfully managing the team in recent weeks, he remains a key part of the club," said Women's and Girls Development Officer, Les Johnson.
"We look forward to a bright future under the stewardship of Bob and trust you will join us in wishing him the best of luck in the role."
