They have won the Greater London League Division Two South title at a canter, winning 17 matches out of 17 as this goes to press and have conceded just four league goals so far.
Palace opened up the season with a 3-0 victory over Peckham Town and never looked back from that moment. Indeed, they have won every game they played except one, losing only to Walton Casuals in the County Cup during the entire campaign so far.
In the John Greenacre Memorial Trophy, the team have had a fantastic cup run, beating three Premier Division teams along the way, as well as Walton Casuals. The standout performance for the team in this cup was when they played the eventual League Champions, Ashford Town (Middx) in the quarter finals and pulled off a great 6-4 win, playing some of the best football they have played this season.
They then went on to beat the Premier Division runners-up New London Lionesses 7-2 in the semi finals and they will take on Bromley in the Final, which will be played at Bedfont Sports Club on 19th May.
The squad are a very young team with most of the players aged around 16/17. This season, the Development team have seen five players progress into the reserves, with a few of them making first team debuts as well, whilst six players have moved from the U18s/U16s into the Development set up, either training regularly or playing for the team.
The squad is run by Manager/Coach Rick Lockett and Coach Dean Lock, and the team is also well supported by Paul Treacy (admin etc). Captain of the team is Ellie Paris, who has done a fantastic job leading the younger players through their first year in senior football as well as having a superb season herself on the pitch. Top goalscorer is Aaliyeah Weise-Forbes, with 30 goals to her name this season, closely followed by her fellow forward Iesha Swaby who has contributed a further 23. Elisabeth Heyndrickx (18) and Ellie Johnson (17) are also in double figures, whilst Mia Lockett and Shakira Waithe have also been regulars on the scoresheet.
The Development side are generously sponsored by Sydenham Scrap Metals Ltd, which is very much appreciated by the players and coaching staff in the Team.
