Blackburn Rovers will play Crawley Wasps in this season's FAWNL League Cup Final after safely negotiating their semi finals on Sunday.
Blackburn booked their place with a 4-0 victory over Loughborough Foxes, all of the goals coming during the second half. Two goals in a minute, just before the hour mark, turned the match firmly in Blackburn's favour - Lagan Makin giving them the lead and Natasha Flint adding a second just a minute later to break Loughborough's resistance. Saffron Jordan made it three at the midway point of the half and Makin completed her double to crown a successful day for her side.
Crawley Wasps meanwhile took on Bolton Wanderers, whose run to the semi finals has seen them claim a number of scalps from the division above. It was Crawley who were to become the first team from outside the top flight to reach the Final since the reorganisation of the league, as an own goal early in the second half gave them a narrow 1-0 win (see match report).
