The top of the table clash went the way of Burnley FC Women, who have opened up a lead of six points following their 1-0 victory over Brighouse Town.
A tightly contested game was settled when Sarah Greenhalgh scored the only goal, midway through the second half.
Chester-le-Street Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool Feds but the point was enough to take them above Brighouse and into second place. The Cestrians took the lead through a tenth minute goal from Laura Hockaday but the Feds hit back after the break and earned themselves a point, thanks to an equaliser by Emily Douglas.
Leeds Utd leap back into the top half of the table, courtesy of a 3-0 win against Chorley. Hannah Campbell put Leeds ahead during the first half and Abby Parkin doubled their lead a minute before half time, Campbell rounding off the win with her second goal, twenty minutes from time.
Only five points cover second to ninth place in the table and this group includes Bolton Wanderers after they defeated Morecambe 2-1. Safron Newhouse and Kelly Halligan were on target for Bolton, with Morecambe replying through Jess Tait.
