Cardiff Met Women have extended their lead at the top of the Orchard Welsh Premier Women's League to four points after they won 6-0 away to Briton Ferry Llansawel.
Robyn Pinder gave Met the lead just before the half hour and Tija Richardson made it two, ahead of half time. Madison Schupbach increased their lead from the penalty spot, before Pinder netted twice more to seal her hat-trick. Schupbach rounded off the scoring with four minutes remaining for her team's fourth victory in a row.
Swansea City have moved back into second place after going one better with a 7-0 victory over Rhyl Ladies. Jodie Passmore netted twice inside the opening half hour and went on to complete her hat-trick just before the break, with Sophie Hancocks also getting on the scoresheet. In the second half, Passmore went on to score her fourth goal on the hour, with Emma Beynon netting twice in a five minute spell to complete the scoring for the Swans.
Cardiff City Women's first home match of the season finished in a 1-1 draw with Port Talbot Town, but the scoreline does not tell the full story of an astonishing match. Alana Murphy gave City the lead just after the half hour, with Natalie Ashford equalising from the penalty spot early in the second half to preserve her side's unbeaten record. However, this was one of four penalty kicks awarded to Port Talbot during the course of the game, missing the target on the three other occasions.
Llandudno Ladies meanwhile made it two victories on the trot with a 2-0 win away to Caernarfon Town. After a goalless first half, Jordanne Greenough and Mari Gibbard both scored in the opening five minutes of the second to wrap up a result which takes them out of the bottom three.
The winners of the Orchard WPWL September Player and Manager of the Month awards have been announced.
Port Talbot Town boss Hayley Williams takes the Manager of the Month accolade, having guided her side to ten points from their first four games, an unbeaten run which saw them top of the table at the end of the month.
Cardiff City Women forward Catherine Walsh takes the Player of the Month award. The forward bagged six goals in City's four games through the month, including a hat-trick on the opening day away at Briton Ferry Llansawel.
