Blackburn Rovers have taken over top spot in the Northern Premier Division for the first time this season, after their 2-1 win away to Middlesbrough.
The first half was goalless but Blackburn were ahead within a minute of the restart, thanks to Natasha Flint. Anna Birtwhistle got 'Boro back on level terms but with four minutes remaining, Rovers captain Lynda Shepherd scored to make it six wins out of six for her side.
Blackburn lead the way on goal difference from Sunderland, who stayed level on points with them by beating Hull City 4-2. Hope Knight did put Hull ahead early on but goals from Bridget Galloway, Keira Ramshaw, Emily Hutchinson and Georgia Gibson ensured that the Wearsiders got back on the winning track.
Derby County lost a little momentum as they went down to their first defeat of the season, 3-1 to Fylde Ladies. Sophie Charlton and Olivia Wild gave the Coasters a two-goal lead at half time and although Derby renewed hope for themselves when Andi Bell pulled one back, Emily Hollinshead scored with two minutes left to seal a result for Fylde which takes them into the top half of the table and only five points off the pace.
It has been a week to forget for Stoke City as they were beaten for the second time in four days, 2-0 by Sheffield FC. Both goals came during the second half, Ellie Hawcroft and Lisa Giampalma scoring in a three minute spell as their side notched up their third win of the season.
Doncaster Rovers Belles celebrated their first victory and did so in style, running out 4-1 winners away to Guiseley Vixens. Zoe Belding netted twice along with Chloe Bethell and Izzy Whittle to get Doncaster off the mark, whilst Guiseley's consolation came from Olivia Auker.
