Huddersfield Town have ascended to top spot in the Northern Premier Division following their 4-1 victory over Hull City.
Kerry Hope gave Town a first minute lead with Sarah Danby and Arianne Parnham also adding first half goals, with Emily Smith replying. Kate Mallin rounded off the scoring in the second half to put a halt to Hull's recent improved form and take Huddersfield top on goal difference.
Sunderland had started the day as leaders but are back in second after going down to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Derby County. Olivia Mitcham netted the only goal of the game with eighteen minutes remaining, to take unbeaten Derby to within one point of the top two.
Just three points cover the top six teams in the table and that includes Middlesbrough, who ran out 4-0 winners away to Bradford City. 'Boro took the lead through Eleanor Dale and Holly Manders added a second just before half time, with Emma Kelly and Eve Marshall also getting on the scoresheet during the second half.
Fylde Ladies leapt into mid-table on the back of a 4-1 victory over Sheffield FC. Jenna Carroll, Sophie Charlton, Emily Hollinshead and Hollie Kelsh were all on target for the Coasters, with Lisa Giampalma.
Nottingham Forest ended a run of five league matches without a win by beating Doncaster Rovers Belles 3-1. Sophia Bonser opened the scoring in the first minute, with Izzy Whittle equalising for the Belles, but after the break, Charlotte Griffin put Forest back in front and an own goal sealed the points.
