Stoke keep up early pace
 Women's Football WNL North News - 12 Sep 2018
Stoke City kept up their perfect start to the new campaign with a 4-2 victory away to Guiseley Vixens, which takes them two points ahead at the top of the Northern Premier Division.
Faye McCoy netted a first half brace to put Stoke two in front at the break, with Meg Bowyer adding a third ten minutes after the restart. Guiseley then staged a fightback with Ella Hartley and Ellie Olds reducing the arrears, before Ashleigh Hayes made the points safe for Stoke with seven minutes remaining.
Derby County are in second place following their 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest. In front of an impressive attendance of 2,109 at Pride Park, Amy Sims scored the only goal of the game against their previously unbeaten opponents during first half injury time.
Blackburn Rovers returned to action by beating Hull City 2-0 and they sit in third place. Natasha Flint put Rovers in front just before the quarter hour and Hannah Walsh added the second just before half time.
Sunderland brought Huddersfield Town's winning start to the new campaign to the halt by defeating them 3-2 and joining them on six points. Mollie Lambert netted twice and Emily Hutchinson the other for the Wearsiders, whilst Huddersfield replied through Charley Evans and Kate Mallin.
A goal in each half gave Middlesbrough a 2-0 success away to Doncaster Rovers Belles. Sarah Cramer put 'Boro in front shortly after the half hour and Eleanor Dale wrapped up the win, fourteen minutes from time.
Sheffield FC meanwhile claimed their first league win of the season, 2-0 against Yorkshire rivals Bradford City. Ellie White opened the scoring in the twelfth minute, before Megan Tinsley scored the second early in the second half.
