Women's Football Yearbook is returning
 Women's Football Promotions News - 7 Sep 2018
Promotions News - Women's Football Yearbook is returning - 7 Sep 2018 - Women's Football NewsOne of the new additions to the women's football media scene will be returning to bookshops again next month.
"I think one of the reasons I fell in love with football when I was a kid," says Women's Football Yearbook editor Chris Slegg, "is because for 90 minutes the world made sense.
"Everyone knew the rules. Everyone understood the aims. And at the end of 90 minutes, whatever had happened, the result was all that counted, and it would be written down and preserved forever in the Rothman's Football Yearbook (today known as The Sun Football Yearbook). I would buy that book every year, and every year I would learn a little more about our national game.
"Last year it occurred to me that men's football had enjoyed the presence of a yearbook since the 1970s, but women's football in England still didn't have one."
The Rothman's Football Yearbook served as the inspiration for ‘The First Ever Women's Football Yearbook' which was launched last year. The women's title attracted positive reviews and was included in the Guardian's Best Sports Books of 2017. "I hope it can play a small part in raising the profile of women's football in this country," says Slegg.
It's now back for a second edition. ‘The Women's Football Yearbook 2018-19' will be available on Amazon and in bookshops from October 2018.
Like the men's title, it offers a comprehensive review of the 2017-18 season, with all the results and goal scorers from the WSL, FA Cup, Continental Cup, WPL, WPL Cup, WPL Plate and England matches. There are exclusive interviews with a leading player or manager from every team competing in the top division in 2018-19, including the likes of Chelsea's Fran Kirby, Manchester City's Nikita Parris and Arsenal's Jordan Nobbs.
The book covers the top 100 clubs in England and is even bigger and better than last year's title, with colour photos throughout and more statistical information included on the clubs competing below the top two divisions. "The Women's Football Yearbook 2018-19" (RRP £19.99) is available for pre-order at www.legendspublishing.net.
