The 2017-18 season has been a successful season for AFC Bournemouth Girls & Women's programme with the ladies in particular enjoying a memorable season, as the squad gained promotion and a place in the League Cup Final.

Promotion to the Southern Region Women's League Premier Division was gained following just one defeat throughout the season. The final game of the campaign was won in impressive fashion, with a 12-1 win against Winchester City Flyers Reserves, Emma Davis scoring five of the goals, which included a five minute hat-trick.

Further achievements for the Ladies squad came in the League Cup competition, which involved teams from the three Southern Region Women's Leagues. A place in the Final was secured with an outstanding performance against Warsash Wasps, despite going a goal behind the team responded well and went on to score eight times.

The Cup Final was the final game of the season after securing promotion the week before. The game was played against the winners of the Premier Division, Chesham United, and despite a very good performance in a close game, Bournemouth were defeated 3-1.

The Ladies made history this season by playing a game on the main pitch at the Vitality Stadium against a Chelsea Development Squad. A record crowd of 877 enjoyed the game, particularly when Sian Tilly scored with a brilliant header, which was the Cherries' only goal of the game during a fantastic evening which showcased the AFC Bournemouth Girls & Women's programme.

Steve Davies is the Ladies First Team manager and he is assisted by Dave Hook. The side is captained by Sian Tilly, with leading goalscorer Chloe Tape the vice captain, she received the Ladies' Player of the Season award at AFC Bournemouth's annual Players Awards Dinner, with the whole Ladies squad in attendance alongside their male counterparts.

The Women and Girls programme, which has been developed over the past three seasons, provides a pathway for young female players to enjoy football and reach their potential, with a number of the current team having progressed through the youth programme in to the senior squads and first team.
