Charlton Athletic are the new leaders of the Southern Division after they defeated previous table toppers West Ham Utd 3-0.
Gemma Bryan scored twice and Fliss Gibbons the other for the Addicks who top the table for the first time this season (see match report).
Just three points cover the top five teams, with Keynsham Town moving back into second place as they ended their losing run with a 1-0 success at Yeovil Town. Keynsham, who gave a debut to 16-year-old full back Kierra Minall, settled the Somerset derby match through a sixth minute header from Jade Radburn.
Portsmouth got their promotion push back on track with a 3-2 victory over Queen's Park Rangers. Lauren Murphy headed Pompey into a fourth minute lead which was cancelled out by Seun Odeniyi shortly afterwards. Lindsey Roe restored the lead for Portsmouth just after the hour mark and Gemma Hillier swiftly added a third, before Rangers pulled a goal back through Nav Boparai.
Cardiff City continue to close in on the leading sides and stepped up their own challenge by winning
3-0 at Gillingham. Sophie Ingle gave the South Wales side the lead on the stroke of half time with a long range strike, before setting up the second after the break for Nicola Cousins to head home. Amie Lea rounded off the victory by finishing off a good move eight minutes from time.
