Wales 2 (Fishlock 60, Lander 72) Romania 1 (Duca 40)
Wales fought back from a goal behind to beat Romaina and record their first victory in their Algarve Cup group.
Jarmo Matikainen's side trailed to a late first half goal but Jessica Fishlock scored one and created another for Helen Lander to help turn her side's fortunes around.
After a disappointing result in their opening game against Portugal, Wales gave a determined performance but found themselves a goal behind just before half time when Romanian captain Cosmina Duca gave her side the lead.
Romania struck the post early in the second half but this proved to be the turning point of the match. On the hour mark, Wales were back on level terms as Loren Dykes set up Fishlock to score her 12th international goal.
With eighteen minutes remaining, Fishlock this time turned provider as she broke down the wing and her pinpoint centre was converted by Helen Lander to put them in front for the first time.
Romania pressed forward as they attempted to save the game and won a succession of corners but the Welsh defence stood firm under the pressure and they held out for an excellent victory.
The result puts Wales in second place in their group with one match to play, against Chile on Monday evening.
