England Under-15 went down to a narrow 2-1 defeat in their friendly international against Holland at Leicester.
In front of an excellent crowd of 1,088 at the Holmes Park headquarters of the Leicestershire & Rutland FA, the Dutch took the lead in the 20th minute when Laika Boerrigter found the roof of the net with a right foot shot from the edge of the area.
England fought back after the break and were level within five minutes of the restart, Katie Zelem grabbing an equaliser via a powerful header.
However moments later Holland were back in front again as Vivianne Miedema raced through on the edge of the area where she passed England goalkeeper Sophie Baggeley and slotted the ball into the back of the net for what proved to be the winning strike.
This international brought to an end a week of Women's and Girls related activities which took place in and around the local area, including a Futsal competition and a female-only basic referee course.
