Hayley Lauder praised her Scotland team mates after they defeated Wales 4-2 in their friendly at Haverfordwest.
The Spartans striker scored two of her side's goals and she told Women's Soccer Scene after the match: "We knew the match was going to be a challenge and we did well. It was a good game and a good result for us."
Hayley gave Scotland the lead moments before the half time whistle and recalled: "It was a great cross from the right by Jane [Ross] and I suppose I was in the right place at the right time."
Wales did level the scores late in the second half but two more strikes sealed the win for Scotland. "Obviously we were disappointed at the way we conceded that goal but the team bounced back and we got the right result in the end," said Hayley.
"We work a lot for the wingers to run on the diagonal and it was a great pass by Jo for my second goal, all I had to do was put it away."
Wales winger Loren Dykes insisted that her side had not played at their best on the day. "It was a good game but we're a bit disappointed and it was a bit frustrating at times," she admitted. "We could have played the ball about a bit better than we did.
"We got ourselves back in the game but then a few mistakes cost us in the end. I think overall Scotland were the better side and are ranked a lot higher but the fact we are competing against teams like that and are disappointed that we lost - that is the positive we can take out of it. We'll learn from it and it won't happen again.
"We've got the Algarve Cup coming up and hopefully by then we'll show a vast improvement. We are working towards the Euro qualifiers so every game we get under our belts now is going to improve us."
