Manchester City's 100% record in the Northern Division came to a crashing end as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Leeds City Vixens.
Natalie Haigh put the Vixens ahead from the penalty spot on 19 minutes and early in the second half, their lead was doubled by Meganne Paul. Sarah Dobby crowned a great day for the Yorkshire side by scoring the third goal, twenty minutes from time.
Second placed Derby County narrowed the gap on City to five points but left it late in their 3-2 success at Curzon Ashton. The game exploded into life from the 65th minute when Jodie Redgrave opened the scoring for Curzon. Hannah Ward quickly equalised for Derby but Issy Hayes restored Curzon's lead just a minute later. The Lancashire side looked to be on their way towards three valuable points but two penalties in the last five minutes, both converted by Emily Jeffery, tipped the balance Derby's way.
Newcastle Utd and Aston Villa met each other in an important clash at the other end of the table and it was Villa who returned home with the three points. Carly Davies gave Villa a 25th minute lead which was doubled on the half hour by Natalie Clarke. Megan Beer pulled a goal back for Newcastle on the stroke of half time but Villa sealed the points midway through the second half as Davies completed her double, lifting her side out of the bottom three and towards a mid-table position.
