Birmingham City Ladies FC are proud to announce their squad which will take part in the The FA WSL next year.
The most notable name amongst the squad is that of England star Karen Carney, who has returned to the club where she started her career following a spell in America with Chicago Red Stars.
Other notable signings include England internationals Emily Westwood, Laura Bassett and Dunia Susi as well as former Leeds captain Jess Wright and striker Stef Curtis from Chelsea.
Inclusion in the eight-team line up in The FA WSL signalled the dawn of a new era for the Blues, who are relishing the opportunity to make history as women's football in England takes a giant step forward. The club is looking forward to competing against all seven clubs in what promises to be an exciting season ahead for everyone.
Club Chairman, Steve Shipway says: "We have been working tirelessly over the past six months to bring this talented group of players together. We aim to bring a brand of football to the league that will bring success and supporters will enjoy watching. With this squad and other developments, there is a real sense of eager anticipation at the club ahead of the forthcoming season."
The club and squad are now preparing for the pre-season training phase which will start in earnest in January 2011.
