Andover New Street will be approaching this week's FA Women's Cup First Round tie with Forest Green Rovers full of confidence.
The Southern Region League Division One side, who won the Hampshire County League last season, have acquitted themselves well after promotion and booked themselves the trip to the New Lawn with a 5-3 win away to Salisbury City in the last round.
Andover captain Alex Cottier (pictured) insists that her team are not daunted by the task of facing the South West Combination side. "I am looking forward to testing us and seeing how fare we have come as a team," she said.
"I wouldn't be surprised if we go to extra time as I think the game will be tight. I have to say that New Street will win in extra time, well hopefully!"
Manager Trev Knight is looking forward to the occasion and is confident that there will be no pressure on his players. "I'm delighted for the girls to reach this stage," he said. "Over the last three years we have gone from strength to strength and this FA Cup tie is a fitting reward for all the girls' hard work over this time.
"I am sure if we play the football I know we can play, we will give Forest Green lots to think about. We have played teams already in their League and have held our own so I'm sure this will be an exciting fixture to watch.
"Either way, whatever happens I am so proud of each and every one of the girls. It is an absolute pleasure to work with such a committed and dedicated group of players and I am sure we will have a great day out. The club have been so supportive as have our supporters and I would like to thank them as it means a lot to all of us!"
