Manchester City are five points clear at the top of the Northern Division following their 4-0 victory away to Newcastle Utd.
Becky Grocott headed City into a fourth minute lead and Krystle Johnston broke through to double the advantage shortly before half time. Sarah Danby made it three with another header on the hour mark and Grocott rounded off an impressive victory with her second goal.
Rochdale meanwhile lifted themselves into third place, courtesy of a 6-3 win against Leeds City Vixens. Alyson Hastie led the scoring for Dale with a hat-trick while Steph Bell, Lisa Wood and Keeleigh Savage were also on the scoresheet. Stacey Daniel replied twice for Leeds, with Becky Kendell adding the other.
Preston North End recorded their first league victory of the season, a notable 2-1 success away to high riding Derby County. Sam Cadwallader and Kim Cahill were on target for Preston, with Derby's consolation coming from Cara Newton.
One match was played in the Southern Division and it saw Queen's Park Rangers keep up their improving form with a 2-0 success at Colchester Utd thanks to Beth Liles and Elly Maggs.
