Hibernian and Glasgow City lock horns on Wednesday night in the first Unite Scottish Cup semi final.
Arguably the match most expected to be the final itself, the two top SWPL sides will battle it out on the indoor pitch at Toryglen aiming to be the first team to make it into the Final in Alloa next month.
Aside from a friendly in the season summer break, the two sides have not met since the beginning of May when City triumphed 3-0 in the League encounter. That win, coupled by the fact City lead the Premier League and are the current Scottish Cup holders, makes the Glasgow side the favourites for this exciting encounter.
City Head Coach Eddie Wolecki commented on the match. He said, "We are really getting to the business end of the season and the team have a fantastic couple of weeks to look forward to. This starts on Wednesday night with the Cup semi final.
"We are the holders of the Scottish Cup and we don't like to part with trophies easily, so we will be doing all we can to make it to the Final. Hibs are an excellent side, who have improved really well over recent months and have had some fantastic performances and results lately. However, I believe in our squad.
"We have a number of injuries and a bout of flu going around now, but we have been utilising the whole squad for the entire season already, so Wednesday will be no different. This has been the strength of this team in particular this year.
"We have an outstanding pool of players and I have 100% confidence in every single one of them. They want to retain this trophy and will be doing everything they can to make it into the Final."
The match takes place on Wednesday, indoors at Toryglen Football Centre (6.30pm).
