Blackburn Rovers came from behind to beat Barnet 2-1 and open up a lead of three points at the top of the National Division.
Barnet, still searching for their first league win, took the lead in the 27th minute via a Cheryl Williams penalty and they stayed in front until midway through the second half when Danielle Sheen equalised. With two minutes remaining, Sheen scored her second goal to give Blackburn victory.
Sunderland are up into second place after they battled out a 1-1 draw away to Reading FC Women, who move off the bottom as a result. Kelly McDougall looked to have sent Sunderland on their day towards a third successive victory when she gave them the lead just before half time but Reading fought back after the break and earned themselves a share of the spoils, thanks to a 65th minute equaliser from Mikaela Howell.
