Sunderland are now just one point off the pace in third after they returned home from Leeds Utd with a 3-1 victory under their belts. Sophie Williams gave the Wearsiders an early lead which was cancelled out midway through the first half by Jade Pennock, but Williams ensured that Sunderland led at the break by grabbing her second. The points were sealed thirteen minutes from time as Williams completed her hat-trick.
Millwall Lionesses lifted themselves off the bottom with their first victory of the season, 3-1 away to Reading FC Women. Ann Marie Heatherson and Lindsey Morgan netted either side of half time to put the Lionesses two goals ahead and Kate Longhurst added a third midway through the second half, before Natasha Caswell scored a late consolation for Reading.
Watford kept up their 100% record - their fourth draw in four games - as their match with Barnet finished goalless. However the scoreline did not reflect the game which was an open affair, Sarah Wiltshire and Katie Owen having shots cleared off the line for Watford while Cheryl Williams missed a penalty at the other end.
