Liskeard Girls were proud to welcome Corinne Yorston to Cornwall as she became the second England international star this year to come down and run a training session with the girls in Liskeard.
Corinne, who last season played for Premier League champions Arsenal, relished the chance to come down and see the girls first hand for herself after fellow England team mate Sue Smith visited the club earlier this year.
Liskeard Girls have formed a great relationship with the FA in London and it is through their support and backing that they have managed to secure some of the best players in the country to make rare trips in to Cornwall just for them and to endorse what is going on at the club.
Corinne led a fun training season with the girls which got them working on their attacking and defending skills. She then inspired the girls with some stories from her rise to the England national team and then posed for photos and signed autographs for all the players in the team.
The evening also saw the launch of the kits for the girls this season. "Without our sponsors we wouldn't be able to do what we do," said coach Adam Sibley. "We are so thankful to S.A.S Trewartha's Plumbing and Heating for sponsoring the kit for our Under-12s and to KRP Electrical for sponsoring our Under-14 and Under-15 teams. We are so proud to have two great local firms involved with the girls football setup.
"It's an exciting time for Liskeard Girls with more big plans for the future as we get ready to embark on another amazing season."
