Two second half goals earned Leicester City a narrow 2-1 win against Leeds City Vixens in the Northern Division. A tough encounter between the two sides saw both defences on top for most of the game. There was an early chance for the Vixens as Sarah Dobby's header from a Natalie Haugh corner was well saved by Leicester goalkeeper Leanne Hall. At the other end a Courtney Sweetman-Kirk effort went close. In the second half, Lauren Impey and Kirsty Robson produced efforts for Leicester by Carrie Simpson in the Vixens goal was equal to them. The deadlock was broken just after the hour as Sweetman-Kirk crossed for Impey to head home. Natasha Meade increased Leicester's lead with a powerful 20-yard strike after a fine run. Leeds scored a consolation goal late on through Megan Pearce. Aston Villa moved into the top half of the table by running out 3-0 winners away to Newcastle Utd. Natalie Gibson put Villa ahead on the half hour, with Carly Davies adding the second after the break and Kim Farrow rounding off the win ten minutes from time. Curzon Ashton also won 3-0 away from home, at Luton Town to give themselves a chance of a top half finish. All of the goals came in the first half, Emma Lambourne giving them a 20th minute lead before Patrice Shirley and Amanda Goodwin added further goals ahead of the break.
