![]() The early exchanges were largely limited to the midfield area but a counter attack from Filton led to the game's first opportunity, Sharla Passiarello backheeling the ball into the path of Connie Short whose attempted lob was narrowly off target. Passiarello then had the first clear cut chance as she burst into the area and shrugged off a challenge from Carly Bryant before her shot was blocked by the legs of goalkeeper Rosie Dimery. The game continued to be evenly contested although the chances fell Filton's way, Daisy Allen going close with a shot from the edge of the area. Forest Green played some neat passing football with strikers Charlotte King and Laura Bray heavily involved while pacey winger Ella Hitchcox looked very lively on the right. They were to carve out the best chance of the game so far, a Lorea Sarobe corner was not dealt with by the Filton defence and King blazed over a free shot on goal from 12 yards. Kirsty Richardson twice had efforts on goal which were saved by Abby Evans. Filton broke the deadlock nine minutes before the break as Jaz Matthews chipped a pass into the path of Passiarello, the Forest Green defence appeared to freeze and the striker duly set up Gabby Bird for a simple finish from point blank range. Forest Green responded with Sarobe striking a free kick over the bar but Filton continued to look sharp going forward and a fine pass from Bird released Passiarello who made her way towards goal and fired just over from the edge of the area. As the game went into first half injury time, Bray went close when hooking a shot from 20 yards which was just wide. Filton went straight on the attack and Short charged down a clearance and the ball went goalwards but Bryant was on hand to clear the ball away from danger. Filton picked up the pace at the start of the second half with Passiarello shooting over following a good run and cross from Charlotte Jones. Georgia Wallis headed wide from an Ellis Parsons cross and Matthews' cross from the left picked out Passiarello whose first time shot was diverted over the bar by Dimery. Back came Forest Green and a snap shot from just outside the area from King brought out an excellent diving save from Evans. At the other end though, Passiarello was a constant threat and she once again went close, latching onto Allen's pass and lobbing Dimery but the ball came back off the post. The growing pressure told and Filton finally got a decisive second goal. Jones supplied the through ball and Passiarello again broke through, this time making no mistake as she rounded Dimery before coolly sliding the ball into the empty net. With Jones and Short prompting from midfield, Filton sought more goals with Forest Green central defenders Bryant and Jodie Sheppard working hard to keep their side in the game. In the third minute of injury time, Forest Green scored a well deserved consolation after Richardson picked the ball up and drove towards the Filton goal. She slipped a pass into the path of Hitchcox who lobbed the oncoming Evans to give her side renewed hope. Filton almost grabbed a third as Passiarello dribbled past two defenders before her angled shot was just wide of the far post, but time had run out for Forest Green and there were no more scares for Filton ahead of the whistle.
