England Under-17 got off to a winning start in their opening UEFA Under-17 Elite Qualifying Round group match, beating Serbia 3-1 in Ellera.
Lois Fidler's side were given the perfect start as Katie Wilkinson gave them the lead after five minutes. The teams exchanged efforts on goal with England narrowly having the better of things but they took a firm grip on the game in first half injury time as Wilkinson scored her second goal.
Midway through the second half, Serbia renewed hopes of a fightback when Ana Popov pulled a goal back from a free kick and the game was back in the balance once again.
