Luton Town won the Bedfordshire County Cup with an 8-0 victory over St Martins in the Final at AFC Kempston.
The early exchanges saw St Martins almost grab the lead on two occasions and Luton were grateful for a superb Carly Cowell recovery and clearance off the line and then a smart save from goalkeeper Nikki Duncan.
Luton began to get a grip on the game and pushed forward but the Saints defence held firm until full back Helen Brown broke through to give them the lead with a low finish.
Brown then added a second goal with a well struck volley at the far post and Candice Davies netted the third with a dipping shot.
Michelle Byrne was unlucky with a 25-yard shot which hit the bar but she soon got herself on the scoresheet by slotting home a rebound and Cowell extended Luton's lead with a looping header from a corner, just before half time.
Luton kept up the pace after the break and Byrne scored her second goal after latching on to an excellent through ball from Laveena Betts, who then added the next through a powerful 30-yard strike.
St Martins did not give up and kept going until the final whistle but Luton were to round off the scoring midway through the second half when Fay Howell finished off a good move from close range.
