Inverness are through to the semi finals of the Scottish Women's Premier League Cup after beating Hamilton Academicals 3-1. Leanne Calder was on target twice for Inverness whose other goal came from Lisa MacKenzie, with Nicky Grant grabbing a consolation for the Accies. The other team definitely in the last four are Aberdeen, who booked their place with a 4-0 victory away to FC Kilmarnock. Holders Glasgow City defeated Hibernian 2-0 to reach the quarter finals in a repeat of last year's Final. The first half ended goalless with City twice hitting the woodwork through Suzanne Lappin and Jane Ross and Hibs goalkeeper Shannon Lynn was in excellent form. City broke the deadlock after the break when Leanne Ross gave them the lead from the penalty spot and Katharina Lindner added the second late on with a 20-yard strike. Glasgow City's opponents in the quarter finals will be Celtic, who progressed to the last eight by winning 3-1 away to Boroughmuir Thistle. Suzanne Grant netted twice, with Jo Love adding the other for the Hoops The closest game of the day was at Dundee Utd SC where visitors Spartans emerged as 4-3 winners after extra time. Diana Barry (2), Pauline Hamill and Claire Crosbie scored the goals for the Edinburgh side, with United replying through Laurie Denney, Aimee Godfrey and Debbie Johnston. Spartans now play Rangers in the last eight.
