Lincoln keep hopes alive
 Women's Football News 5 Mar 2010

The top two in the Northern Division table did not play on Sunday and this allowed OOH Lincoln to catch up ground in third place, thanks to a 4-0 victory over Derby County.

The first half ended goalless but the Lady Imps were ahead within a minute of the restart when Jade Radburn stabbed home from a Paige Crossman centre. Leandra Little headed home the second from a corner and the victory was rounded off by goals in the last ten minutes from Jodie Michalska and Carla Ward.

Curzon Ashton finally played their first league match since early November and it culminated with an important 2-1 victory over Leeds City Vixens, which keeps them out of the bottom two places. Issy Hayes and Nicky Maylett bagged their goals while Meganne Paul scored a consolation for the Yorkshire side who were unable to record a third successive win.

Sheffield Wednesday remain in the bottom two but gave their hopes a shot in the arm by beating Preston North End 2-1. Tanya Rich bagged both goals for the Owls, with Preston replying through Gemma Watson.
