![]() Scotland's all-time top scorer makes her return to action after over a year out of the squad following the birth of her daughter. The Scottish FA recently made a historic ruling that will allow Julie to take her daughter on international duty. The eight-team Cyprus Women's Cup runs from 24 February - 3 March, with Scotland set to face Italy, The Netherlands and New Zealand in Group One. Julie will make her competitive return in the FIFA Women's World Cup qualifiers, with a trip to Georgia on 27 March and a home tie against Bulgaria at the Falkirk Stadium on 1 April. Julie told www.scottishfa.co.uk: "After such a long stretch out I'm anxious to get back with the squad. If I hadn't been able to take Ella with me it wouldn't have been the end of my international career, but it would have halted for the time being. "I would never say that I wouldn't play for Scotland again because it's something that I absolutely love doing, but it just isn't possible to go on long trips like this and leave Ella when she's just a few months old. "I'm very grateful to the Scottish FA for giving me this opportunity, and now it's up to me to prove that I can be a mum and an international player while I'm in Cyprus. "It's going to be an excellent trip. It's an opportunity to play four international matches, and hopefully we'll gain lots of confidence going into the qualifier in Georgia, and continue the form that we've shown in recent games. "I'm looking forward to the World Cup qualifiers - these are the type of games that you want to be involved in. The girls have done fantastically well, and got us off to a flying start in the first two games. This could be our chance to shine, and make it to a major tournament for the first time." Hibernian midfielder Hollie Thomson has also been added to the squad for the tournament.
