Wednesday go technical!
 Women's Football News 16 Feb 2010

Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed the appointment of Stephen Potter as their new Performance Analyst.

Potter, a Sports Coaching student at Leeds Met University and also an expert in body mechanics, joined Liam Kelly's backroom staff for yesterday's game at Dinnington FC.

He will be bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge, through his coaching in Corfu with Kelly in 2008 and his time spent at Yorkshire County Cricket Club. Potter's role will involve running the Match Analyst software enabling the coaching staff to use the science vs art approach into training, video breakdowns for half time team talks and working with players on a one-to-one basis looking at individual performance and technique.

On the appointment, Kelly said: "I have known Potts for a few years and we have kept in regular contact over the years. He is someone i trust a great deal, is very professional and produces a great quality of work. The fact he was able to breakdown yesterdays game and have 32 'events' on my laptop within 30 minutes of the full time whistle means our systems can be analysed and e-mailed to the players in an effective time frame.

"This will further enable us to enhance player development and Pott's will become a major factor in helping the players develop and the club move forward at a productive rate."
