Arsenal Ladies are now in their second year of a blossoming relationship with the University of Hertfordshire. Players from Arsenal Ladies, who study full time at the University of Hertfordshire, have played a key role in helping the University win back to back British University Colleges and Sport Premier League South Football titles. The University Squad lost only two games and added the 2009-10 title to their 2008-09 triumph with a convincing away win at Portsmouth in the last league game of the season. This is the second time the University has won the league since they and Arsenal established their female football partnership back in 2008. The team scored 50 goals and conceded only 12 as they clinched the title with Arsenal first team players Kim Little, Natalie Ross, Niamh Fahey and Jennifer Beattie featuring alongside Academy stars Sarah Quantrill, Cally Rowell and Lily Bilson. The University football partnership is part of the player and educational pathway at Arsenal Ladies which, along with the Arsenal Academy, offers elite playing opportunities and a quality education to females aged 16 upwards.
