Rochdale to host League Cup Final
 Women's Football News 8 Jan 2010

On Thursday 11 February, League Two table toppers, Rochdale, will host the FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup Final between Everton and Leeds Carnegie.

This Final will be the third FA game to be staged at Spotland Stadium this season after the two England Women's Under-19 European qualifiers that were staged there in September, a 4-0 victory over Belarus and a 1-1 draw with Norway.

Everton defeated seven times Cup winners, Arsenal, 2-1 in the last four to book their place in the Final after accounting for Sheffield Wednesday, Sunderland and Doncaster Rovers Belles in the earlier rounds, while Leeds Carnegie's route to Rochdale encompassed victories over Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea.

"We are delighted to be bringing this showpiece match to the north west, where we are increasingly seeing more girls and women playing the game," said Thura Win, Chairman of the FA Tesco Women's Premier League. "Having recently brought two England women's Under-19 games to Rochdale, we know Spotland Stadium is a terrific venue with first class facilities.

"Rochdale are enjoying a fantastic season in League Two and we hope that many of the club's supporters come to Spotland to see some of the most talented and exciting footballers in the women's game."

Rochdale's Chief Executive, Colin Garlick, said: "Rochdale AFC is delighted to host the FA Women's Premier League Cup Final. We have recently hosted two women's internationals and it is an honour to now be hosting our third such high profile event in the women's game. We look forward to welcoming the supporters of both Everton and Leeds Carnegie to Spotland Stadium as well as neutral supporters looking to enjoy a sporting and entertaining game."

Arsenal collected their seventh Premier League Cup crown last season, beating Doncaster Rovers Belles 5-0 in the Final while Amy Kane's seventh minute goal at Brisbane Road gave Everton victory over the Gunners in the 2008 Final.

"This year's FA Tesco Women's Premier League Cup Final is a very exciting clash between Everton Ladies and Leeds Carnegie," said David Potts, Tesco Retail Director. "As a big football fan myself, it's great to be involved in this Cup competition again and with only two points currently between the clubs in the FA Tesco Women's Premier League, I'm looking forward to a closely fought match. May the best team win."

Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions. Prices in a group booking are £3 for adults and £2 for under-16s. Rochdale AFC ticket hotline - 0844 826 1907 (Option 8).
