Midland Combination Only one game managed to survive the weather on Sunday and it saw Coventry City take advantage of their rivals' inactivity to beat Leicester City 7-1 and open up a lead of eight points. Emily Hanson gave the Sky Blues an early lead and hit the bar soon afterwards, before Beth Poppleton headed home an equaliser for Leicester on the half hour. Robyn James put Coventry back in front after the break and Gemma Clarke headed in a third, with Hanson going on to complete her double. Kate Ward marked her debut by scoring twice and Leanne McKenna completed the tally with a fine goal in the dying minutes. South East Combination Leaders Enfield Town suffered a setback to their challenge as they were beaten 2-1 at home by Lewes. Emma Mead and Claire Trafford scored the goals for the Sussex side, who move back into fourth. Gillingham moved to within three points of Enfield, thanks to an 8-1 success away to Milton Keynes Dons. Ashlee Hincks led the scoring with a five-goal haul, Danni Farmer weighed in with a double and Jodie Mugford was also on target. * No matches were played in the Northern and South West Combinations on Sunday.
